Ingredients:
- 1 package of red dye
- 1/2 c. white vinegar
- 18 room-temperature eggs
- olive oil for glazing
Method:
1. Dilute the dye powder in vinegar. In a large pot, combine dye mixture and warm water to cover eggs.
2. Bring to a boil. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove pot from heat and add eggs.
3. Return to heat and simmer eggs for 45 minutes. Remove eggs and cool slightly. Rub each egg with an oiled cloth to glaze the surface.
Cooking time: 1 hour
Makes 18 eggs
