Cake ingredients:
- 1/2 a cup of corn oil
- 1/2 a cup of rose water
- 1/4 cup of peeled split almonds
- 1/2 a tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 a tsp of vanilla powder
- 2 cups of semolina
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of yogurt
Syrup ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
Method:
- Place the semolina in a bowl with oil and mix well.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the almonds and mix well.
- Pour all the mixture in an oiled pan, decorate the top with the slit almonds and bake in medium heat for about an hour until is golden brown.
- In the meantime until the cake is cooked, place all the ingredients for the syrup in a sauce pan and boil for about 10 minutes.
- After the cake is cooked and before it cools down pour the syrup over it and let it cool down before serving.
